Seattle Based Makeup Artist Unrecognizably Transforms Herself Every Halloween For Self-Esteem & Confidence Boost

September 29, 2018

Oh the things we do to feel more confident. We color our hair, join our local soul cycle, we intermittently fast, buy the latest crop top, DIET so we can fit into said crop top. We sport the latest trends (scrunchies and all!), and take all the OOTD's to prove it! We do all this just to feel like we fit in. Just to, if only for a brief moment, feel like we belong. To share our story in a way that makes us think we are living our best life, until the next life!

I'm doing this too, but through makeup, and in light of the spookiest holiday of the year- HALLOWEEN! For one month, I let my mind run wild while dream up the coolest, cutest, and scariest characters I can imagine. I get to drop all my insecurities, all my self-doubt, my round face & double chin phobia, and fully create a character all her own. I don't just create the look, I create the story behind it, I name them, I am them, if only for a night (or just a quick IG photo!). It's exciting, it's fun, it's hilarious, and it truly brings me so much joy. Each year I do this, the more confidence I gain and the more cemented it becomes. Each look adds a drop to the bucket and reminds me that I am perfect just the way that I am.

I hope these before & after photos bring a smile to your face and inspire you to step out of your shell this year, too.

 1) Melted Ice Cream Girl

When you've made a vow to quit sugar for 45 days, so you wear it instead! Drippy, icecream realness.

 2) Dia De Los Muertos

Fun fact: This was the first Mantilla (or veil in general) that I ever made!
